Well gang, it’s Memorial Day weekend again. And while 160,000 Americans are over seas fighting a pair of wars for us, everybody at home is playing hell dealing with $4.00 a gallon gasoline.
$5.00 a gallon gasoline is being talked about.
Food of all kinds is creeping upward too. Staples like bread, milk, eggs, and of course meat are all going up. Popcorn in the movies is even going up.
Those that understand the real estate situation say that it’s going to take at least a year to get that thing settled down a little. And there is also going to be a record number of automobiles being owned by banks this year.
So that the banks that already own more houses than they want, are going to own more cars than they want also.
George Bush, who wants to save money by vetoing the new G.I. bill, tells us that we are not in a recession. And that’s a good thing, because we wouldn’t want boys and girls to come back from the wars to find a recession waiting for them. Now would we? Especially if Bush vetoes an honorable G.I. bill.
Let’s not let things like our gasoline problems make us forget our warriors of the past, likewise our warriors of the present.

Till next week
