May 2 2009
Well, gang, yesterday was May the first, in certain circles known as "May Day" Especially in the ranks of our aeronautical brethren.
While we were apprehensive about The club’s events surrounding this day, there were no catastrophic incidents that required reporting in our weekly chronicle.
There were several members who had gathered for a pork barbecue, who later showed up at an emergency ward complaining of swine flu symptoms, but the good people at the hospital assured everyone that they were all suffering from alcoholic poisoning. Which, of course, was a relief to all.
A couple of members recounted stories that recalled days when they had thought themselves to be higher than a kite for a day or two, only to find out that they had a case of walking pneumonia. Those were the days.
These days however, we all know the difference between a pathogen and a good buzz. Isn’t that right?
At any rate, there is going to be an open house and art show at the Antique Warehouse / Trash and Treasure at 1714 Westheimer and Park, from 5-9 PM on Saturday, May 9th .
Local painters, photographers, and jewelry makers will have their works on display, along with antiques and new furniture, at good prices.
Partnering with the open house will be Gallerie Mado-Chalvet located at 1716 Westheimer.
And for those of you that miss her, there will be a tribute to "Tiki". We will certainly never forget "Tiki".
Till next week
