Well, gang, a lot of you have noticed that for the last few weeks we have been playing reports over the air that were originally broadcast four or five years ago. The printed versions of our reports, like you are reading right now, on line, have been neglected entirely. We will try in the future to be less negligent.
In a way it has been sort of like our summer of reruns on the radio, and just plain lazy when it comes to the web.
We feel flattered to know that some of you pay enough attention to our messages, and still have enough brain cells left to recognize a report from that long ago, let alone go to the trouble to email the head office and point out our mistake.
While some of the emails are quite creative and enjoyable, that is not to say that others were not anything even remotely approaching literature.
Please stop sending us emails having to do with this subject.
There is also some good news this week. For those of you who like to plan ahead, the Montrose Beer and Gun Club is indeed, going to have a benefit this Fall. . .Fall. . .the word has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?
Anyway, it will be held on Saturday, October 24th at the West Alabama Icehouse, and the format will be roughly the same as always: Food, Silent Auction, Live Music, maybe a raffle or two. And everything goes to help out kids who wish things were better.
It will be our ninth year, and everyone is looking forward to having another good time for a good cause.
The heat wave has been cutting down on outdoor activities like shooting competitions, and if it hangs in for the rest of the Summer, we may not have as many people in the hospital with gunshot wounds, like we did last year.
Well, let’s hope not.
